The new Dowagiac Fire Station is under construction! In celebration, a beam signing ceremony took place on Friday, May 31. It was a great event, and VK is thankful to be a part of the project as the civil engineer. This project has a stellar team of owners, designers, and contractors, and we look forward to the completion of the Fire Station!

VK Civil is proud to have sponsored a Western Michigan University Civil Engineering Senior Design Team in their Capstone Project! The team’s project involved a site design of the Northwest Cancer Center proposed in Northern Indiana. They learned real world engineering practices and professional skills that they will use as they enter the workforce. The students did a fantastic job with their presentation. Congratulations Nolan, Alex, and Hussain. We wish you the best as you head toward graduation!

He comes to us with 10 years of experience in both private and municipal work but will primarily focus his efforts on the private development team. Greg is licensed in Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa. VK Civil participated at the career fair hosted by Calvin University. This event offered an invaluable platform to be introduced to students, reconnect with professors that taught many at VK Civil, as well as share our values and what we do. Students were eager to learn about the municipal and private development services VK Civil offers and explore career opportunities within our organization. VK Civil was a platinum sponsor of the 2023 AIA (American Institute of Architects) Northern Indiana Golf Outing in South Bend Indiana. The weather was perfect for an afternoon of camaraderie and friendly competition on the golf course. At the VK Civil hole, players had the opportunity to roll a giant die for some fun prizes, while also competing to be the one closest to the pin.
