June 2 was the grand opening of the splash pad at Caledonia’s Community Green Park. Bringing the community together in celebration, marking the beginning of a summer filled with laughter and cherished moments for all who visit. I (Dan) was tempted to make the title “VK Civil Grows in Height and Capacity”.  We recently added two new team members to our private development team. They happen to be the tallest members in the private development team picture below. Collin Wilson joins us as an EIT (Engineer in Training) with 3 years of experience in private development design. VK Civil recently had the privilege of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Viking Stadium at Niles High School. VK was hired by CARMI Design Group to assist with the civil engineering design of a new track and artificial turf football field. The project turned out great and the first sporting event happened on the field right after the celebration. Congrats to Niles on your new track and field!

Dan Lewis had the pleasure of presenting “Civil Engineering Site Selection Considerations” to the American Institute of Architect’s Southwest Michigan Branch recently. Custer hosted the presentation from their beautiful offices on the 15th Floor of the Exchange Building in downtown Kalamazoo.  The views were awesome!
